Leviathan

It is the cusp of World War I. The Austro-Hungarians and Germans have their Clankers, steam-driven iron machines loaded with guns and ammunition. The British Darwinists employ genetically fabricated animals as their weaponry. Their Leviathan is a whale airship, and the most masterful beast in the British fleet.

Aleksandar Ferdinand, a Clanker, and Deryn Sharp, a Darwinist, are on opposite sides of the war. But their paths cross in the most unexpected way, taking them both aboard the Leviathan on a fantastical, around-the-world adventure….One that will change both their lives forever.

MY REVIEW:

Leviathan (Leviathan, #1)Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld
My rating: ★★★★★ 5 of 5 stars

“A steam punk novel that will extends your imagination.”

Okay, so this is my first ‘steam punk novel’ that I’ve ever read and it blows me away!

Scott Westerfeld did a brilliant job writing this novel. I put my highly praises about his work.
It’s about war and two different people exchanging stories within their two different sides. I never thought of putting this book down. I love reading it!
The characters are likable and you’ll love to know what’s gonna happens next. Also there are a lot of mechanism creatures and talking animals that makes you ‘awed’. Alek and Deryn make a great team and I am giggling a lot every time they got the whole scene together. I really want them to be together! *screams like a fangirl*
The story is very well written and I’m glad that they add these illustrations in each chapters. I didn’t get a hard time picturing the events based on the story.
Overall, I recommend this book to all! It is a great tickles to your imagination.

Behemoth

The behemoth is the fiercest creature in the British navy. It can swallow enemy battleships with one bite. The Darwinists will need it, now that they are at war with the Clanker Powers.

Deryn is a girl posing as a boy in the British Air Service, and Alek is the heir to an empire posing as a commoner. Finally together aboard the airship Leviathan, they hope to bring the war to a halt. But when disaster strikes the Leviathan’s peacekeeping mission, they find themselves alone and hunted in enemy territory.

Alek and Deryn will need great skill, new allies, and brave hearts to face what’s ahead.

MY REVIEW:

Behemoth (Leviathan, #2)Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld
My rating: ★★★★★ 5 of 5 stars

“I wanna live in this book!”

After reading the second book the only word that comes in my mouth was “WHOA!”

The second book was freaking amazing! I am craving for more Prince Alek and Deryn adventures. As usual a great praise for the author Mr. Scott Westerfeld.
The story was overwhelming and a grip-tighten experience. A lot of mysteries and more new creatures and machineries ahead, the book series is getting better and better. I can’t put it down.
Alek and Deryn…God I love them so much! I just want to be part of their world, and also there are more new characters in this book which most of them are truly likable.
I don’t want to spoil the whole book but overall I suggest you to read the Leviathan Series.

Goliath

Alek and Deryn are abroad the Leviathan when the ship is ordered to pick up an unusual passenger. This brilliant/maniacal inventor claims to have a weapon called Goliath that can end the war. But whose side is he really on?

While on their top-secret mission, Alek finally discovers Deryn’s deeply kept secret. Two, actually. Not only is Deryn a girl disguised as a guy…she has feelings for Alek.

The crown, true love with a commoner, and the destruction of a great city all hang on Alek’s next–and final–move.

The thunderous conclusion to Scott Westerfeld’s Leviathan series, which was called “sure to become a classic” (SLJ).
